i just dont understand why teams dont like him, he produces year in and year out adjusts to each system pretty well it just doesnt make sense to me.

Want to bet they (or at least the fans) regret it by next year. The Bear fans still have tributes to him on line along with insults directed at Chicago for letting him get away.

They think they won't miss him. I'll bet they will.

I hate to see this happen year after year but especially Chicago He tore it up while he was there but in NY I could see the writing on the wall when he was bening held out in short yardage situations. He fooled the coaching staff by quietly having a quality season I dont know how many more of these teams he can take because the age factor is the reason no oneis willing to give him the chance he needs . Just let him know if he is a everday player or a situational player. I think they will be pleasantly suprised. Smart kid with smart football sense. He wasted so long out in the desert give him a chance to win a ring before he retires.

He said football stopped being fun after highschool. His mom asked me once, after he had a monster game for the Jets and didn't touch the ball till the 2nd quarter the next week, what I thought. They don't play LPD ball in the pros and your boys have a much better job than we had in the mines. I hope the kid quits while he is still pretty healthy and has invested his money. Pro football is a job and the teams look to make money...bottom line. He was and is a good kid. (Sorry, I still think of him as a kid.

they did it because they have money tied up in two backs they think can carry the load already, Green and Washington, and they didnt want to have to pay Thomas a roster bonus or anything.

he will get picked up, and it will be fast.

Greene looked amazing in the playoffs but he is unproven. Can he carry the load of a 16 game/300 carry season? That is yet to be seen, but the fact of the matter is this is a dumb move by the Jets. Greene runs the ball like he's Marion Barber or something, hate to tell him hes no Marion Barber. Like Barber though he will wear down quick, and I doubt his physical style will last. I'd say he either goes down with an injury midway through the season or has nagging injuries all throughout the season and his not quite as effective.

Plus Leon Washington is coming off an injury and might have a hard time regaining his explosiveness. Combine all that with the possibility that next season may be uncapped and you have an all around dumb move by the Jets.

If this happens I'd love to see Jones end up with the Pats and get a ring, and another 1000 yard season or two.
